Vietnam Impression

Vietnam Impression – 12 days – From A$1170

Hanoi is home to all the best of historic Vietnam. Let’s discover traditional temples, monuments, and pockets of ancient culture along the narrow streets of the Old quarter. With a unique blend of oriental and western charm, the French colonial legacy is still evident illustrated by the distinctive yellow pastel colored villas and government buildings. The centre of Hanoi is by far the greenest and most beautiful city with elegant tree-lined boulevards and many lakes….

Ha Long Bay is located in the northeastern part of Vietnam. In a not very large area, thousands of islands with different forms look like glittering emeralds attached to the blue scarf of a virgin. The area where many stone islands concentrate has spectacular scenes and world-famous caves is the center of Ha Long Bay Natural Heritage. They are the result of many times of rising and lowering processes of the continent to form a karst. The process of nearly full erosion and weathering of the karst created the unique Ha Long Bay in the world.

Hue became the nation`s capital in 1802. The city remained Vietnam`s capital until 1945. Although time and warfare have taken their toll, the local residents act as if Hue still is and Hue`s atmosphere of regal serenity remains intact. UNESCO has called Hue `an adorable architectural poem` due to its harmonized combination of nature and human inspiration.

Hoi An: About 30 km from Da Nang in the South-West, is one of the oldest cities in South-East Asia. During 17th and 18th centuries, Hoi An was a busy commercial port for the exchange of commodities between the West and the East. Recognized by UNESCO as Cultural Heritage Site, Hoi an is a living museum offering ancient Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese architecture and traditional Vietnamese hospitality. Centre of Hoi An remains much the same as it was 200 years ago.

Nha Trang is one of the nicest cities in southern Vietnam, blessed with lovely beaches, white sands, clear skies, crystal blue sea and fine weather all year round. Surrounded by steep, dark green hills, the city hugs a long curve of yellow beach and a bay as blue as a fancy cocktail. The turquoise waters around Nha Trang and the islands off the coast are almost transparent, making for excellent sea bathing, fishing, snorkeling and diving.

Ho Chi Minh City or Saigon as it still known to many, is Vietnam’s largest and most dynamic city. In 1862, the French declared the city, then known as Saigon, as the capital of colonial Cochin china. What hasn’t changed in Ho Chi Minh City is commercial zeal. Not surprisingly, Ho Chi Minh City is a shopper’s paradise, with trendy new boutiques and modern shopping centers just steps away from traditional open-air markets…

My Tho: Driving south from Ho Chi Minh City, My Tho is the first major Mekong Delta town you to come to. Situated about two hours by bus south west of Ho Chi Minh city, Its proximity to Ho Chi Minh City has made My Tho the most popular destination for day-trippers to the delta looking for a taste of authentic delta life.
